Chinese giant
binoculars are more often and widely used due to the ease of use
and hand-holdability. But, if an average user can only keep two
or three models, is the Chinese binoculars one of the "keepers"
for "a life time"? So, it occurred to us that besides Chinese
25/40x100, we should make more "keepers".
22x100 astronomical is based on such thoughts:
1) Mechanically, it has all-metal body, sturdy enough for life time
use.
2) The painted white finish, deep anti-glare shield, a built-in
stainless steel mount, and better-looking nylon case.
3) But, the price is just a little bit more than 80mm.
22x100 astronomical is heavier (3.9 kgs for the body), longer (46.5 cm),
and so not suitable for handheld use. Optically,
it has bak-4 prism, full broadband multi-coating, cnetral focus
with right ocular diopter
adjustment, long eyes relief, and accessible collimation screws.
